Besides Fraternity, Charity is the main objective in Freemasonry.
The values of Freemasonry are based on integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness. Freemasons are taught to practice charity and to care, not only for their own, but also for the community as a whole – both by charitable giving, and by voluntary efforts and works as individuals.
Not only does each lodge collect, by various means, funds to distribute to local good causes but in this country, each lodge contributes to the United Grand Lodge of England who are probably the largest individual charity in the UK
Freemasonry is one of the largest charitable givers in the country, contributing £51.1m to deserving causes in 2020 alone.
